Claiming
Settling a medical emergency claim involves several steps. At Global Excel, we are dedicated to making the process as simple and expedient as possible.
The claim settlement process involves reviewing your claim by matching benefits in the policy and then verifying and settling all costs involved. If your emergency involved simple out-patient care, we need only your completed claim form and bills. If, however you required non-standard testing and/or numerous follow-up visits, or if you required an in-patient hospital stay, we must obtain a number of documents for review:
- Medical records, which we request from the hospital following your discharge.
- Medical history check which we request from your treating physician.
- Original itemized bills.
- Your signed claim form with all sections completed.
Your travel insurance provides coverage beyond that of government healthcare plans, but without your completed claim form, we cant seek reimbursement from your government plan for its share unless you provide the following:
- Read the claim form carefully, and complete it accurately and fully.
- Include all numbers and letters on your government health card (if applicable) in the box titled Provincial Health #.
- Sign both sides of the claim form.
- Enclose original copies of all self-paid bills and receipts, as well as any unpaid bills you have received.
- Please provide proof of departure and return date (e.g. gas receipts, airline tickets, letter from employer and/or credit card statements).
- Return all above documents to one of the following addresses as soon as possible:
